OEN has an exciting panel discussion lined up for the April 9th PubTalk held at Bridgeport Brewpub at 5pm. Check it out, register for the OEN PubTalk! Most startups fail. That is a fact. So, how can you be one of the fortunate few that not only survive, but succeed? Come hear from those who have stared failure in the face and made it blink. Hear how they overcame some or all of the four deadly demons feared by all startups: Product risk, Market risk, Team risk and Financing risk. OEN has put together a great panel of entrepreneurs who will discuss these risks as a way to help guide entrepreneurs towards minimizing each one, and maximizing their rewards. The panel will include three successful serial entrepreneurs: Kanth Gopalpur, CEO Monsoon Inc, David Moffenbeier, Co-founder/COO, Absorbent Technologies and Pete Grillo, Founder/CEO Iterasi. The event will be moderated by Gerry Langeler from OVP.

The newly launched group is called Smart-ups and they will be launching their first PubTalk on April 2. Smart-ups is founded by Caroline Cummings, CEO of OsoEco who won the Sustainability Sector at Angel Oregon and Nathan Lillegard, CEO of Floragenex both whom have participated in several OEN events in Portland. This year's Angel Oregon was a terrific event. Seven companies were showcased at the conference and here are the winners. “END//outdoor did a great job in winning OEN’s Angel Oregon 2008. The entrepreneurs participation in the investor presentation coaching and exhaustive due diligence process really helped them to articulate their business plan and demonstrate the potential return for investors,” said, Bob Ward, Angel Oregon chair. “Angel Oregon is attracting really high caliber companies. Couple that with value of the exposure and the experience that competing companies get, and the value proposition of the event is pretty compelling for Oregon’s economy.” OEN's Angel Oregon is the Northwest’s premier deal flow and networking event for Oregon and SW Washington based angel investors and early-stage entrepreneurs. The competition has real economic impact for Oregon. Of the 20 company alumni that have presented at Angel Oregon since 2003, 19 are still operating with more than $45 million in combined revenues (up 44% from last year) and employ more than 380 people. This year’s event drew an audience of 325 angels, potential angels, entrepreneurs and OEN supporters. See other related articles.
